Protein-Rich Chocolate Shake (with Dairy-Free Option)

Sometimes I just really want a shake... or a simple meal... or chocolate... or maybe all of the above! And I don't want ingredients that I can't identify. Since necessity is the mother of invention, voila! (Picture me unveiling the shake with much pomp and circumstance.)

Protein-Rich Chocolate Shake

I'm a big fan of Vital Proteins because their products are high quality and well-sourced. The collagen peptides are so versatile because there is almost no flavor which means it can be used in so many ways. When I need a big of extra protein I have added it to soup, tea, oatmeal, popsicles, smoothies, and pretty much any drink (hot or cold). Collagen peptides support healthy skin, connective tissues, and joints.

I am really enjoying the vanilla collagen why in my rooibos chai tea. It makes it taste like a cookie! Haha!

shake ingredients

This recipe makes enough for two people.

Ingredients:

-2 scoops Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (buy here)

-2 scoops Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen Whey (buy here)

-1.5 cups milk of choice (I like this one)

-2 Tablespoons cocoa powder (I like this one)

-1/4 cup nut butter of choice

-2 dashes cinnamon (I like this one)

-2 sliced frozen bananas (or if not frozen add more ice)

-1.5 cups ice

(If you are dairy-free you can sub the Vanilla Collagen Whey for an additional 2 scoops Collagen Peptides and a splash of vanilla extract.)

Instructions:

Blend all ingredients together adding the ice last. Enjoy right away or freeze in popsicle molds for a delicious and nutritious treat later!
